Mark Hooper of Deaf Positives Action gave a talk about Deaf Advocacy at Harrow United Deaf Club on Saturday 4th March 2017.

Mark explained the importance of having Deaf advocacy in line with the Care Act which stated that people (including deaf people) in needs of support because of their disability can request for advocacy during social care assessment of needs. Advocacy can also be used to enable people to have a voice in accessing to services eg making a complaint or wanting to understand the process.

If you wish to access to Council Services and in need of advocacy support or want to know more about Deaf Advocacy Services, please contact Deaf Positives Action on: http://deafpositivesaction.org/advocacy
