HUDC Feb 2016

Harrow United Deaf Club opened its door on Saturday 6th February 2016, at a new venue – St John Ambulance Hall, North Harrow. It is a wonderful spacious venue and conveniently located in the heart of North Harrow, off Pinner Road with easier access to shops and transport. Our previous venues included Stanmore, Harrow & Wealdstone and now at North Harrow, we hope to build up more links with Harrow Communities and foster more partnership-working with local organisations and groups. We are also pleased to work closely with St. John Ambulance to reach out more deaf people.

Asif Iqbal MBE, President of HUDC opened the event; explained: “It was good for host our first event of 2016 at a new venue. The turnout was good with a theme of Valentine where everyone wore red! We recognised the importance of communicating the changes to our community and have an exciting programme coming up for this year. Do look at our website www.hudc.org.uk for further updates.”

Harrow United Deaf Club is also pleased to receive a message of support from Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills and a President of the Board of Trade.

Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP said: “I am proud to offer my support to Harrow United Deaf Club. The inclusive community it provides to many who might otherwise feel isolated is a huge encouragement and force for good. I wish the Club every success as it brings together more people from all backgrounds and raises awareness of what can be achieved when we work together”.
