HBUDC Ambassador: Akshay Ruparelia won double awards 2017…

Harrow& Brent United Deaf Club is delighted to announce that Akshay Ruparelia, one of our Ambassador has won double awards.

One of the awards was Entrepreneurship Award’s Start-up of the Year award as result of Akshay’s online estate agency – Doorsteps.co.uk.

The Entrepreneurship Awards, which took place in Leicester on 24th November 2017, in recognition and rewarded the hard work and achievements of key individuals and organisations in the East Midlands region.

Event organiser Ninder Johal said the awards were created to recognise the contribution business makes to the region – from start-ups to those that had matured.

It included companies that want to disrupt the traditional marketplace and emphasised the importance of international and community work.

Mr Johal, a past president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and a Black Country local enterprise partnership board member, spoke about UK growth over the last 12 months but warned about the slowing down of the global economy and the uncertainties around Brexit and global protectionism.

He also highlighted the need to collaborate and work together to safeguard funding for crucial issues such as transport infrastructure and local skills development.

Akshay also won another award, literally 24hours after he won the first award. The second award – 21st Century Icon Award 2017, took place in Mayfair, Central London on 25th November 2017.

The award event provided an ultimate platform between successful individuals, their businesses and the next generation of inheritors with entities and individuals most likely to connect and interact with them.
