A jam-packed afternoon was hosted by HUDC President Asif Iqbal, who welcomed members and guests from across Harrow. Those in attendance enjoyed performances from singer Omoyele Thomas and the Rochford Irish Dance Group, as well as a speech from inspirational figure Premi Pushpalingam, Harrow resident and Team GB Deaf Women’s Footballer.

Uma Kumaran, Labour MP Candidate in Harrow East, said: “For five years Harrow United Deaf Club have been doing some fantastic work and I was honoured to join their anniversary celebrations and meet some truly inspirational people. The deaf community contributes so much to Harrow and clubs like this play a vital role bringing people together from across our borough. I look forward to working closely with HUDC in the future as they continue going from strength to strength”
