Harrow Council’s website explained about what is ‘Take Part’ means?

“Join the conversation

We are calling on all residents to ‘Take Part’ and join the conversation about the kind of Harrow we are shaping. Your feedback is important, as what you tell us will determine how we prepare for future budget cuts. We will strive to ensure that each and every resident has the opportunity to be involved in decisions about the future of Harrow.

We will be speaking with you from Thursday 11th September through to Saturday 8th November about how the first round of spending cuts will affect you.

The Council needs to make a decision about the budget for 2015-16 by February 2015 and has outlined a list of proposed cuts, which it will speak with residents about in the first instance.  You  can find this list of cuts proposals here.

We will be asking you to indicate how savings measures will affect you and the community, and how you can take a more proactive role in helping us to deliver these services. You can complete a copy of the survey here.

Alongside this, the Council will be working more closely with specific service users and interested parties about savings proposals. The Council wants to understand on a deeper level how the cuts will affect the direct users of the services and work with them to find a way to deliver the cuts with minimal impact.

For the next four years, we will be regularly asking where your priorities for spending are. Should the emphasis be on the vulnerable? Street lighting? Or do you want to see more money go into affordable housing and regeneration proposals to bring more jobs to Harrow?”
