To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, Brent Council is hosting a Flag Raising ceremony followed by refreshments on Tuesday 19 February 2019from 2 to 4pm at Brent Civic Centre.
LGBT+ History Month takes place in February each year. This year’s theme is Peace, Activism and Reconciliation. At its heart, it is an opportunity to celebrate LGBT+ lives and culture and to recognise the achievements of LGBT+ people and communities. The ethos of LGBT+ History Month is one of diversity, inclusion and tolerance.
The event will start at 2pm in the Paul Daisley gardens next to Brent Civic Centre. The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Arshad Mahmood, will raise the flag. Councillor Muhammed Butt, Leader of the Council and Councillor Margaret McLennan, the Deputy Leader, will also be in attendance.
After the flag raising ceremony, from 2.30 to 4pm there will be light refreshments and the opportunity for networking in the Olympic View area next to the Grand Hall, Level 1 at Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, HA9 0FJ.
