Brent Council is renewing its Equality Strategy, which will contain its equality objectives for the next four years.
We want to hear from everyone who lives, works, studies and volunteers in Brent their views on equality issues in the borough and ideas for what our new objectives should be.
Please share your views and ideas by completing our short online questionnaire here: https://consultation.brent.gov.uk/chief-executive-department/equality
The questionnaire is open until 26 August 2019 and it takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Alternatively, paper and Easy-Read versions are available from libraries or available to download online using the link above.
Please return completed paper or Easy Read questionnaires to Natalie Gordon, Level 4, Strategy and Partnerships, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley HA9 0FJ by 26 August 2019.
Feedback provided through the questionnaire will be used to inform Brent Council’s Equality Strategy 2019 – 2023, which will be put before the Cabinet later in the year.
The nine groups of ‘protected characteristics’ in the Equality Act 2010 are:
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and civil partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Religion or belief
- Sexual orientation
We will be holding some consultation activities around the borough to hear your views and ideas. Details are posted on the Brent Consultation Hub here and in the flyers and posters attached.
For BSL Users – to watch a short video with British Sign Language translation on our Equality Strategy consultation please click here.
We would be very grateful for your support in raising awareness of the questionnaire and our consultation activities so that everyone’s views can be heard.
If you are part of a group or organisation and would like a Brent Council staff member to give a talk on our consultation at an event that you are organising, please let us know by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 020 8937 1231 or 07920 275212 (SMS).
We look forward to hearing from you.
