Harrow United Deaf Club is pleased to have Councillor Sue Anderson, Portfolio Holder for Community, Culture and Resident Engagement, as our host of the evening for our Easter Party event on April 2015. We will also have a first Deafblind Priest – Father Cyril Axelrod OBE as our guest speaker. Father Cyril is well-known as an inspiration for many communities as he travelled across the world, climbed a mountain and wrote a book.
Councillor Sue explained she is looking forward to hosting the evening: “As the Portfolio Holder for Community Culture and Resident Engagement, I am really delighted to be asked to host an event for Harrow United Deaf Club, an organisation which embodies the sentiment expressed by the late Helen Keller when she said ““Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. In these cash strapped times working together is vital for statutory and voluntary sector alike, to make sure that all our services are as inclusive as possible.”
