Queen Diamond Jubilee

Harrow Asian Deaf Club is holding a Jubilee celebration this afternoon.

The club, which provides social opportunities for people who are hard of hearing, is holding the event at the Bentley Day Centre in Uxbridge Road.

There will be a barbeque, bouncy castle, face painting, henna art, football, musical chairs, an egg and spoon race, dancing and a raffle.

The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Nizam Ismail, will be attending the party as will John Purnell, Deputy Lieutenant for Harrow, who will be welcomed by a group of patriotic flag-wavers.

Mr Purnell will meet schoolchildren, Katherine Borland, Rochana Hay and Ammaar Hussein of Hatch End High School.

The children will show the deputy lieutenant some of their artwork, including a portrait of the Queen.
