Valentine’s Day 2013

2nd February 2013: Successful Valentine Day Party with fun activities including ‘Blind Date’, ‘Take me Out’. There were ‘love and romance’ in the air at Harrow Asian Deaf Club as HADC hosted their Valentine Party on Saturday 2nd February 2013. The venue was delightful decorated with romancing colour of Red with heart-shaped balloon, bunches of red roses and a wall of hearts with valentine messages. Everyone came, wearing stunning red and competed with each other for the best outfit of the evening.

Scrumptious foods were served in the form of Valentine themes with Valentine cup cakes, fruity red punch with strawberry and pomegranate, chocolate hearts aswell as some hot mouthwatering snacks.

There were lots of fun and laughter in the room as special Valentine’s friendly games were played, in the form of ‘Cilla Black’s Blind Date’, where three female contestants were asked few questions by a unknown male admirer behind the screen. Once the contestant was chosen, the screen went back to reveal the identity much to their surprise and was treated to free flowers and a ‘hottie award’ for taking part. The game continued in reverse with male contestants and a female admirer asking questions. Another game of ‘Get me out of here’ was played where a group of male lined up and a secret female came out to introduce herself and her background/ interests. From there, the group of male decided whether to continue to play if wanted to know more about the girl, or stand back as out of the game if not interested in the girl. It brought lots of tears and laughter and a further game was played with a group of female with a male came out, introducing himself and background.

People also enjoyed having their photos taken, with fun pose with Valentine theme in the background and using various props including red glittering bowler hat, bunch of roses, chocolate and even ‘Love’ model display as a gift. We have had positive feedback from people of all ages and even had older people having so much fun! Children were treated to art & craft activities, making Valentine cards and pictures before being treated to a DVD of Shrek.

The evening rounded off with a best dressed competition and the winners of female and male best dressed was announced
