David Buxton, Chief Executive Officer of British Deaf Association

David Buxton is Deaf since birth and a proud parent of 10 years old partially deaf son. He used to be a Borough Councillor and also stood for Parliament twice and Greater London Assembly in 2000. As a founder of Liberal Democrats Disability Association 21 years ago, he is one of 40 leadership candidates to seek parliamentary selection at the next General Election. After obtaining MBA, he worked as a senior strategic commissioning manager for disabilities and HIV/AIDS for London Borough Council for about five years, then moved on to become the Regional Operations Manager for SCOPE, and now Chief Executive Officer of the British Deaf Association since March 2011. His main interests are reading law and politics, debates and history.
